Mapseagrass is managed by Special Monitoring and Coastal Environmental Assessment Regional Activity Centre (CEARAC) (http://cearac.nowpap.org/) of the Northwest Pacific Action Plan (NOWPAP) in the UNEP’s Reginal Seas Programmes（https://www.unenvironment.org/nowpap/). CEARAC was established in July 2002 hosted by the Northwest Pacific Region Environmental Cooperation Center (NEPC) in Toyama, Japan, and it has been carrying out various activities related to assessment of the state of the marine, coastal and associated freshwater environments, including assessment of pollutant input for the purpose of comparison with the monitoring results in the NOWPAP region, coastal areas of northeast China, Japan, Korea and Russian Far East.
